Before start your jewelry creation, you need to clean the seashells first. There are many ways to clean these seashells, for example heating, freezing or boiling them. For heating, you can either use oven or microwave, then remove the animal inside the shells. For freezing, put the shell in a zip lock bag and put it in the freezer. Defrost it at the room temperature to remove animal inside. Boiling of the seashells can also clean the shells in the easy way. Any method you are using, you need to remove the dead animal inside the shell before use those shells for your jewelry steps.

Next step is to bleach the seashells. The mixture of bleaching reagent with water (1:1) will be the best for this step. The time for bleaching is depended on type and shells quantities.

Drilling of the seashells is the next thing to do. Keep in your mind that this step is not an easy thing to do. The seashells are all delicate and easily to break when the pressure is applied to. Be careful for all the steps you have applied to the seashells. Hold the drill firmly, use high speed drill and the diamond pointed drill is recommended for this job. You need to practice on this drilling step before work on your seashells. Keep your eyes and nose safe from the seashell dusts. This seashell dust was defined as a fine dust. This fine dust is able to flow directly to your lung, stick and stay there forever. It can cause a serious injury to your lung if you are not carefully work on this step.
